About Me

My name is Kristy.

I’m an accountant with experience in both Canadian and US individual tax filings, Canadian and US sole proprietor tax filings, Canadian NFP filings, and not-for-profit running experience. I also have cash handling, documentation, training, and organizational skills from a variety of positions over the last 25 years.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from UIUC in the US, and completed all but 4 classes of my Master’s in Accountancy.

I identify as a queer woman with a joy for makerspaces, furry conventions, sci-fi events, and doing new things. I’ve lived in all sorts of privileged, and not so much, spaces.

My philosophies are centered on the idea that anyone can learn a skill given the right teachers and circumstances, and that we are all ultimately one community. I also encourage self-care, support alternative learning styles, and delight in helping others better their own paths. If you want to learn, I will help, even if it means that you do your own paperwork in the future.
